The Black Isle
Picturesque coastal villages to explore with galleries, cafes and boat trips. Cromarty has notable historic places of interest such as Hugh Millers Cottage and the Courthouse Museum. Chanonry Point at Fortrose is renowned as the best place on mainland Britain to spot wild dolphins.
Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle
As well as its spectacular loch side setting, the castle has an excellent visitor centre and cafe. There is also the award winning Loch Ness Monster Exhibition in Drumnadrochit.
Inverness
Offers all the attractions of a small city; cinema, swimming pool for rainy days, parks, ice rink and a good selection of shops and restaurants as well as a castle and other places of interest.
Other Excursions
Ullapool, Corrieshalloch Gorge, Gairloch, Inverewe Gardens, The Falls of Shin, Dunrobin Castle, Loch Torridon, Dornoch, Aviemore and The Cairngorms National Park are all readily accessible on a day out.
